Getting the EDNF Conference Underway in Baltimore
August 12, 2015
Dr. Mitakides and his wife, EDNF board member Jane Mitakides, arrived in Baltimore last night at 2:30 a.m. for the 2015 Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation Learning Conference. Six hours of flight delays are not slowing them down, and today is off to an exciting start. The EDNF staff is ready to go and working hard to transform the Hilton Baltimore from August 13 to 15 into a place of learning, support, reunions and optimism.
This year’s conference has a record number of attendees, nearly 700, following the record-breaking conference of 2014. People around the world attend the EDNF conference for themselves, a loved one or their patients. The ever-increasing number of attendees mean these efforts are reaching more people who can receive early and accurate diagnoses, advocate for themselves and loved ones, and provide the best care and referrals for their patients.
Today, Dr. Mitakides is meeting with Dr. Clair Francomano and her team at the Ehlers Danlos Center at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
During the 2015 conference, attendees will have more than 60 sessions to learn from, including programming specific for kids and teens, sessions for newly-diagnosed individuals, and even sessions about self-defense and EDS.
Dr. Mitakides will be presenting about EDS awareness and TMJ treatment on both Friday and Saturday.
